Jane Buckingham is one of the foremost experts on Generation X, Y and Z. She has been studying and interpreting America's youth for more than a decade, helping companies, educators and parents better understand 7-39 year olds. Buckingham founded and sold The Intelligence Group, a consulting and trend forecasting company that focuses on Gen X and Y. She created the leading trend study, The Cassandra Report®, as well as trendcentral®, a daily e-mail covering fashion, beauty, lifestyle, technology, and entertainment.


Currently, Jane is the President of Trendera, an innovative marketing and media consulting firm focusing on digital and non traditional trend forecasting. Throughout her career Jane has worked and consulted with various clients including The CW, Chanel, Microsoft, NBC, The Gates Foundation, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Paramount and many other Fortune 500 companies.


At 17, Buckingham wrote TEENS SPEAK OUT, a revolutionary book about teens her age. In 2004, she wrote the best-selling book, THE MODERN GIRL’S GUIDE TO LIFE, and was host of the Style Network series of the same name. She recently published THE MODERN GIRL’S GUIDE TO MOTHERHOOD (Regan Books, 2006) and is currently working on THE MODERN GIRLS GUIDE TO STICKY SITUATIONS to be published in 2010. Most recently she published WHAT’S NEXT: 50 OF AMERICAS MOST COMPELLING PEOPLE PREDICT THE FUTURE (Harper Collins, 2008). She is a contributing editor to Cosmopolitan Magazine and regularly appears on nationally broadcast shows such as Good Morning America and The View. Jane has been featured in The New York Times and Los Angeles Times, Fortune and The Boston Globe. She was recently named one of the 25 most powerful women in Hollywood by ELLE magazine.


Tapping into one of the trends she discusses, Jane is partners in Handmedowns.com, a recently launched website which buys sells and gives away for free gently used children’s goods.
Ms. Buckingham is a graduate of Duke University with a B.A. in English and has held various management positions at BBDO and FCB/Leber Katz.
